What a gem!  |

Spurred on by other reviews I bought this player for my daughters bedroom, and what a gem it has turned out to be. Armed with the manual, a cool temper and several hours of quality time to set up (based on previous experience with our lounge setup), I had it connected to her phillips TV via the scart (included), and to her Hifi for stereo sound (cables also provided)in a record five minutes, including three minutes to reflect on why I wasnt experiencing the inevitable picture/audio setup problems! The instruction manual is actually quite useful for a change and provides comprehensive setup and operating instructions. Sound and picture quality are as good as my £150+ branded player and plays music CDs effectively. Graced with more features than you can remember what they do, zoom, shuttle, freeze frame etc (those things no one ever uses unless you are under 12) The build quality is very solid, the design slim and neat. I am amazed, and you will be too it looks, feels and operates like a much more expensive player. End result one very happy daughter. Happy viewing.

An excellent player at a trully remarkable price |

When I spotted how cheap this DVD player was I had my doubts about its quality. I took a gamble and ordered one based on its seemingly excellent specs. Thankfully I was not disappointed, quite the opposite actually! Its ready to go straight out of the box as it is supplied with all the cables and batteries that you will need to connect it to a television. On testing with a Region 2 DVD the picture was sharp and sound remarkable. I have also tested region disks. These simply required the dvd player to be set to ntsc disk play back and pal TV, and the dvd played just as youd expect, perfectly. This player is better specd and better quality than my £180 player. Though you would expect it to look cheap the exterior is very solid, and the mirror and silver front doesnt look out of place next to my silver sony VCR. Perfect player at a perfect price, well done amazon

I would just like to add what other happy customers have said.
Great machine, feature packed plays anything you throw at it. I got it for multi region playback and it works a charm!I love the shuffle option for cd playback. Some more expensive models dont have this and dont have multi region playback either. Picture quality is crisp and play back sound is top notch. Mine is channeled through a decent 5.1 digital surround amp with DTS and Dolby Digital which I got primarily for music. Im happy with video for recording purposes as the sound is channeled through the amp also and Dolby Pro Logic 2 is very impressive! I didnt want to spend a fortune on a dvd player/recorder for this reason having shopped around. All the important inputs outputs on the rear of the machine are identical to the ones found on machines for three and four times the price and the build is as solid as any of the more expensive brands Ive handled. You cant go wrong. Buy it!
